A couple weekends ago I participated in my first craft show in town.
The venue was great, with more that 55 vendors selling their products.
It was a lot different then doing a bridal show, but still lots work.
The thing I like the most is you can find the most amazing things in all kinds of places. At this event I can across Kate from “neat things made by kate”. Kate makes these fantastic vintage looking clutches. They are great for a night out on the town or that something special for you wedding day and of course your bridal party.

Custom orders available. Check Kate out at www.neatthingsmadebykate.etsy.com

The Great Outdoors...
That's where I am today with my dog Haylie. It's already starting to snow here in Ontario and I still haven't done the gardens or cut the grass for the winter. So I decided to give myself a day off, something I hardly ever do and do the a gardens. So that's where I'll be... starbucks in one hand (it's sooooo cold outside) and shovel in the other. As the gardens do not look nice after the first frost and snow fall!!
Have a great Saturday Everyone!!!

Vintage...
Vintage is so "HOT" right now in wedding decor and this weekends wedding is no exception. The bride Sarah brought me this awesome vintage frame, which I used it to create her seating chart.
I created a backing layer in a purple velvet to match her colours. I then tacked each table cards onto the board using finishing nails to keep the cards in place. Finishing nails aren't to pretty, so I glued a green swarovski crystal onto each nail to make them pretty and add sparkle.
Here is a little photo montage of how it all came together...

Greetings!
It’s been awhile since I blogged about anything and I’ve been holding onto this one for awhile. I’m so excited to finally post this...
At the beginning of the year, I got together with a great team of Kitchener-Waterloo and area-base wedding professionals all women by the way, and we put together this amazing photo shoot. Our inspiration started with a little coffee brainstorming session, where we settled on our colour palette of hot pink and mint green. We also knew we wanted something eclectic, whimsical and full of fun. Our inspiration board for a “Fun and Flirty” wedding was created.
We were lucky enough to have permission to use the amazing venue, La Hacienda Siarria in Kitchener, Ontario. It’s this renovated factory in the heart of an industrial area of town and it’s absolutely amazing. The inner hall is like a spanish courtyard and the blank slate the stone walls, floors and rustic wood and steel finishes... gives you so much to work with. The main house is stunning too. We had so much fun using the entire place for our shoot. The end result was stunning.
Thanks to Anne Edgar of Anne Edgar Photography for all the wonderful photos! Anne was amazing to work with she made setting up the shoots go smoothly and that gave us so many photos to choose from that it was a difficult task to just pick just a few...

The styling for the shoot was done by Afzia Shareef, of Style and Elegance. The table decor was an eclectic mix of custom made overlays, napkins and many candles. Giving the table an amazing finishing touch, Afzia hung paper lanterns on fishing wire above the table, creating the illusion of floating bubbles into the air.

The stationery for the shoot was created by Tracey Kestle of Little Details (that’s me). I designed a pocket fold invitation with a flirty floral design, swarovski crystals and a cute belly band to tie in all of our colours. The patterns from the invitation were carried throughout the placecards, menus, favour boxes, table numbers, and programs. I even put touches of the design on the candy labels for our the cake and sweets table.

The cake was designed by Chrissie Boon also known as Too Nice To Slice. Chrissie created a floral element on the cake that mimicked the pattern from the invitations, on the three tier wedding cake, the adorable 2 tier mini cakes. Chrissie also create the wonderful candy bar with cupcakes in cute wrappers, cake lollipops and pretzels drizzled with chocolate, everything matched the colour palette. It was really difficult not to sneak a little tasty treat.

For the florals, Wendy Ryckman of WR Designs ~ Flower Co. created super tall centerpieces with glass cylinders that were filled with ornamental grass, orchids and topped with bunches of with peonies, mums, more orchids and crystals. They looked amazing on the tables. The bouquets for the bride and bridesmaid where beautiful and filled with the same florals.
The fashion styling was done my Aimee Deriu of Bridal Depot (soon to be Valentina Bridal & Couture). Aimee pulled the dresses from the wonderful collections at her uptown boutique. I love the pattern on the wedding dress. The bridesmaid dresses came from the Dessy spring collection and matched perfectly to our theme of the day. Our beautiful models Lisa and Mandy had a great time. Aimee added some feathery hair accessories to Lisa’s updo.
Hair and Makeup by Holly. Thanks Holly the girls look great.

Thanks Ron for supplying us with music for the day and allowing us to use the house and the courtyard as the backdrop to our shoot!
Until next time ladies... you all were awesome!

Looking for Photographs!
Hi Everyone!
I just realized how little in the way of photographs we have of actual weddings from our past clients. I would really appreciate it if any of our past clients would please forward me any photos of your wedding that friends or your photographer might have taken of your paper goods. Just email any information to littledetails@rogers.com. We will certainly credit you and your photographers every time we use the photos. Thank You!

It's been a hot week here and I think I'll be trying out this cool Sangria Recipe I found online today.
Here's a drink that would be great for summer parties too!

Tropical Rosé Sangria
2 oranges, with peel, sliced into rounds
1 large apple, with peel, cored and cut into small pieces
1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
1/2 cup sugar or 1/4 cup simple syrup
1/2 cup Grand Marnier
750 ml bottle fruity rosé wine (I suggest Tavel, Rosé d'Anjou, or Côtes de Provence)
1 cup pineapple juice
2 cups club soda
Cut the orange rounds into quarters and put half of them in a large pitcher, along with the apple and pineapple chunks, sugar, and a splash of the Grand Marnier.
Add the wine, pineapple juice, and the remaining Grand Marnier. Stir well, then chill for at least a half hour to let the flavors come together. Just before serving, add the club soda. Pour into wine glasses over ice, if desired, making sure each glass gets chunks of fruit as well as sangria. Garnish with the remaining orange wedges.

Signature Drinks
When planning out your wedding you work hard to design everything with a little twist of you... why not carry that over to your bar with a signature drink. A signature drink can be a special way to incorporate your favourite drink into your event, add to your colour pallette or it can be one way you save a little by not having a full open bar during your cocktail hour!
I found this one on www.weddingbycolor.com

Pink Haze Cranberry Martini
It uses the following ingredients:
Vanilla vodka(may use champagne and add vanilla dyrup)
Cranberry juice
heavy cream
grenadine juice
The effect of the smoke comes from dry ice which dissolves instantly.

Talk about cuteness....

I found these little bags on one of my many rounds of blog readings today,
and just had to share them with you. They are from JuJu Baju on etsy.
They have a great collection of cosmetic bags that would make great bridemaid’s gifts! You can fill them with an array of little magical items for the big day...

Hello...
This is not my typical post, but I wanted to address an issue with our contact number. Almost two years ago Little Details got it's own number 1.519.505.1666.
We changed our contact number from our personal home number to our new number to make it easier of ourselves and our potential clients. But every so often some one calls the old number looking for Little Details, this has happened several times since we changed our number... even one today!
The reason I'm posting this is due to some of the very unfortunate comments that have been made when the old number is answered with just the word "Hello"... instead of the business name.
We have change the number where ever possible on-line and in publications... Unfortunately there are old directories and publications that people may have keep or been passed from one friend to the next.
We apologies of course for any inconvenience this causes, but please keep in mind the old is our personal number and we’re just being friendly when we answer the phone!
Thank You for your understaning,
Tracey
